About Rowan

Rowan Avalon is a multidisciplinary artist, designer, and creative director whose work explores the relationship between people, place, and the environments they inhabit. Working across architecture, photography, installation, sound, and spatial design, her practice investigates how light, material, movement, and landscape shape human experience. Rather than approaching disciplines as separate pursuits, Rowan treats each project as part of a larger conversation, allowing ideas to evolve across mediums and inform one another over time. Through ongoing bodies of work including Lantern House, Artist Spaces, Signal Room, and Project Sol, she creates environments and experiences that encourage curiosity, reflection, and meaningful connection.

Based in the American West, Rowan’s practice is rooted in observation, experimentation, and a deep appreciation for the character of place. She is drawn to projects that unfold slowly, embracing process as an essential part of the work itself. Whether developing artist residencies, documenting creative communities, or constructing spaces for collaboration and exploration, her approach balances thoughtful design with a sense of openness and discovery.
